David B. Weishampel (* 16. listopadu 1952) je americký paleontolog, pracující v Center for Functional Anatomy and Evolution při Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Titul Ph.D. získal v roce 1981 na University of Pennsylvania za svou práci v oboru geologie. Jeho výzkum zahrnuje klasifikaci dinosaurů, zejména evropských dinosaurů ze svrchní křídy, mechaniku čelistního kloubu a býložravectví, kladistiku, heterochronii a historii evoluční biologie. Jeho nejznámější publikací je kniha The Dinosauria vydaná v roce 2004. David Weishampel se také podílel jako konzultant na natáčení filmu Jurský park a je držitelem filmové ceny Academy Scientific and Technical Award.
