- The 1972 Azadi [=Freedom] Tower on Azadi Square/ roundabout in the west of Tehran. All marble, 45m high and it was closed on that Saturday so we couldn't get to the top. Nobody could tell us why. Gardens around the tower are very well maintained with lots of tulips. Metro stop Meydan-e Azadi on the yellow line.
- On the day before, Friday April 7th 2017, the entire roundabout was trafic free so that we could run the 1st International Persian Run race! Stay tuned.... more on that later.... :)
- In the back you see the snow covered Tochal mountain and the 435m Burj-e Milad tower (again, more on that later :).
